Dear Terry,
I am sorry that I had to contact you through this forum, but I tried to contact you by email with no success.
I recently discovered your website "Descendants of William Tiller of Old Rappahannock County, Virginia". I am very excited to find this site. In particular, I am very interested in Jamima, the daughter of William Tiller (1756-1821).Your site lists that she was married to "a Coburn".I believe that there is a strong possibility that this is the same Jemima who married Jeremiah Coburn from the Giles Co.,Va. area.
They are found in the 1850 Floyd Co.,Ky Census on the 21st of August at Household # 467. Jeremiah Cobourn age 76 & born in Va. and Jemima Cobourn age 58 & born in NC.There is also a Peter Dingess, age 21 & born in Va. living with them.
I, also, believe (but cannot prove) that Jeremiah & Jemima Coburn are the parents of my 3rd great grandfather, Thomas Coburn (born in Va. in 1813) who married Julina Brumfield and lived in Lawrence Co.,Ky. Julina was also from Giles Co.,Va.
Can you tell me how you arrived at the conclusion that Jamima Tiller (dau. of William Tiller) married "a Coburn"?This could be very important to my search. Also, do you have any other information on this Jamima Tiller Coburn, such as birthdate, etc.?
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Pat Fannin
