59th Annual reunion of descendants of Henry Dickerson Tiller and Mary Elizabeth Chapman.
H.D. Tiller is the gggrandson of Joseph Tiller of Kershaw County, SC. Joseph Tiller died in 1801 at Tiller's Ferry, Kershaw District, SC, and is buried at Bethany Cemetery, Lee County, SC.
I was just there this past weekend and have digital pictures of the monument there dedicated to him and two of his sons (William and James) who are also buried there as well other descendants of him.
I also have pictures of H.D. Tiller's father and mother (Joseph Lisenbee Tiller and Nancy McSween) tombstones that are also located at Bethany Cemetery.By the way, the land for this cemetery was given to the church by Joseph Tiller and there is a plaque by the outside gate that tells of this fact.
I also visited and have pictures from the tiny McCoy-McSween Cemetery where Henry Dickerson Tiller's grandfather and grandmother, Angus McSween (b.1788 d.1878) and Christean McSween (b.1792. d.1874), are buried. Benjamin T. McCoy (b.1816 d.1892) and his wife Mary McSween McCoy (b.1825 d.1902) are also buried there.
Joseph Tiller --> William Tiller --> Henry B. Tiller --> Joseph Lisenbee Tiller --> Henry Dickerson Tiller (my great grandfather).
To name but a few, other family names at the reunions are: Pearce, Young, Humphries, Bailey, Owens, and McCoy. Contact Mike Bailey (firstname.lastname@example.org) for directions/questions -- see you there.
