Obituary, "The Elwood Bulletin" [Elwood, Gosper Co., NE], Mar 1969:
Clifford Tilson, 77, Died Saturday in Kearney Hospital
The Elwood Community lost a lifetime resident with the death of Cliff Tilson. A retired farmer, Mr. and Mrs. Tilson have been town residents for nearly 20 years, residing in the home they before moving from the farm.
Cliff was a good friend to all who knew him. He continued his interest in farming long after moving to town and was constantly at work around the yard of his home, hoping it was in top shape.
He had been in failing health for a number of years, and although hospitalized on many occasions, and quite seriously injured in a highway accident, he had continued active until the last. He will be greatly missed in his neighborhood and by those around the town accustomed to his frequent calls.
