Hi, Teresa. The only information I have on the James Walker Timberlake who was born in 1896 and who married Nora Anderson in 1917 is from a web site:www.art-rageous.net/ThurmondGenReportPart1.html.Now, in his excellent article, "The Timberlakes: Shaping Fluvanna," David W.C. Bearr mentions Horace Timberlake (1776-1866), who married Catherine Holland in 1799.He also treats Rev. Walker Timberlake (1781-1863), who married Sarah Maria Strange in 1806.Horace Timberlake and Walker Timberlake were sons of John Timberlake, Sr., and Christianna Thomason. These people are, I think, well documented. One of Horace Timberlake's sons, John Horace Timberlake, married Elizabeth Wilhelmina Timberlake, daughter of Walker Timberlake. Thus, John Horace Timberlake married his first cousin, Elizabeth Wilhelmina Timberlake. All of this is in Bearr's article.Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, Bearr tells us nothing about the children of John Horace Timberlake and Elizabeth Wilhelmina Timberlake. However, the claim is made in Ancestry.com that one of their children was a certain James Horace Walker Timberlake (1834-), who married Sallie A. Patrick.I suggest you get in contact with the person who submitted these data to Ancestry, namely, Stephen Pegler. You will find his e-mail address on Ancestry.Anyway, there is certainly a possibility that the James Walker Timberlake you mention in your message was the same as the James Horace Walker Timberlake mentioned in the submission by Stephen Pegler (even though the date of birth he gives for J.H.W. Timberlake is 1834 and the date of birth you give for J.W. Timberlake is 1836).If it turns out that you have correctly identified the James Walker Timberlake who married Sallie A. Patrick, then I believe you can trace this Timberlake line all the way back to the "original" Joseph Timberlake, who died in 1719 in Middlesex County, Virginia. On the other hand, I have my doubts that the James Walker Timberlake who was born in 1896 was the son of the James Walker Timberlake who married Sallie A. Patrick. If, as you say, this James Walker Timberlake married Sallie A. Patrick in 1859, Sallie would almost certainly have been too old to have been the mother of the man who married Nora Anderson.Suppose Sallie was age 20 when she was married in 1859.Then she would have been born about in 1839.That would make her age 57 in 1896, when the James Walker Timberlake who married Nora Anderson was born.Even if we assume Sallie was age 16 when she married, which would give her a birth year of 1843, then she would have given birth to James Walker Timberlake at age 53, which I still think is somewhat unlikely. Finally, I know nothing of Crawford Goodman Timberlake.Best wishes, Larry Blackman
