Many researchers have identified Hetty King as the wife of Smith Timmons Sr (~1780-1838) and the mother of several children born between 1800-~1830. I just located a transcription of Sussex, Delaware marriage records that indicate Hetty King and Smith Timmons were married on 9 Nov 1833. I am wondering if Hetty may have been a second wife of Smith's, and so a previous wife would have been the mother of the children. Since this would include the son, Southey King Timmons, born about 1812, it seems that the first wife, if indeed there was another, would also have been a King? The other possibility is that there was a transcription error in recording the year of the marriage - has anyone seen the original marriage register?
