I am trying to find more information on William Tinney who married Elizabeth Wilson on October 12, 1832 in Ray Co., Missouri.
My research shows that Isaac Wilson married Elizabeth Linville probably in the Campbell Co., TN area.In about 1818 they left for Ray Co., MO.In 1827, Isaac died, leaving a will. His children named in the will were Jeremiah H. Wilson (1817-1872), Susannah, William Linville Wilson (1822-1901), John C. Wilson (1824-1888) and Israel Calloway Wilson (1825-1909).
The 1850 Barry Co., Missouri lists Israel Calloway Wilson with his wife, Nancy Jane Miller Wilson and their child, John.Either next to them or in the same household is Elizabeth Tinney, who I believe may be Israel's mother, and six children - Sarah or Savannah, Catherine, Rebecca, Polly or Rhody, Andrew J. and Alexander J.Israel Wilson and some of these Tinney children later went to Collin Co., Texas.
The 1860 Collin Co., TX census includes several of the Tinney children - Savannah and her husband, Joseph B. Harbert and Andrew Tinney living in fairly close proximity to William Linville Wilson and John C. Wilson.Later censuses in Montague, Jack and Grayson counties, Texas show other members of the Tinney and Harbert families. In the 1880 census, Rebecca Tinney Harbert is living very close to Israel Calloway Wilson in Montague Co. so it would appear that there was some relationship between these families.
I have also located information indicating a marriage of Hiram Tinney and Elizabeth Calloway (Wilson).Could William Tinney and Elizabeth Wilson be the same couple as Hiram Tinney and Elizabeth Calloway Wilson?Elizabeth gave the middle name Linville to one of her sons and Calloway to another of her sons.If she is the same person, was she born a Linville or a Calloway? Can anyone identify these people?
