Grand Rapids Press, The (MI) - January 31, 2007 Deceased Name: Robert H. Tipsword Robert H. Tipsword, 83, of Grand Haven, died Monday, Jan. 29, 2007, at a local hospital.
He served during World War II and taught ROTC cadets advanced radio coding in Washington, D.C., during the Korean War. He owned C& M Coated Products and enjoyed golfing. He was one of the original Elk members to start the Grand Haven Golf Course and was a member of Spring Lake Country Club.
His mother, Thelma Correll, died in 1987; step-father, Wendell Burkhart, in 1992 and brother, Bud, in 1994. Survivors are his wife, Ann, of 60 years; children Ron and Kathy Tipsword, of Spring Lake; Bobbi and Clifford Bredeson, of Palm Harbor, Fla.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sister Joan and Louis Coon.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home of Grand Haven. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Military rites will be provided. Interment is in Lake Forest Cemetery.
