Donald E. Tipsword of Barrington A Mass of Christian Burial for Donald E. Tipsword, 58, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Anne Church, corner of Franklin and Ela Sts., Barrington, where he will lie in state from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Road), Barrington. An additional visitation will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with Masonic rites. Burial will take place in Moccasin Cemetery in rural Altamont after Masonic services. Born Dec. 19, 1950, in Urbana, to Wayne and Mary (nee Rhodes) Tipsword, he passed away at 7:41 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham. Mr. Tipsword married Barbara J. Heinen on April 17, 1978. He was a regional sales manager for Machinery Supply, Ltd. Donald was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Barrington, a lifetime member of Beecher City Masonic Lodge #665, and past master of the Cary Masonic Lodge #1157 and Dundee Lodge #190. He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Barrington; children, Troy (Brenda) Tipsword of Chillicothe, Jennifer (Eugene) Kropff of Mansfield, Texas, Brian (Dawn) Ives of Fox River Grove and Debbie (Dwayne) Tigue of Poplar Grove; grandchildren, Matthew, Jesse, Kyle, Riley, Clare, Kelli, Morgan and Travis; his parents, Wayne and Mary Tipsword of Effingham; brothers, David (Lisa) Tipsword of Altamont and Andrew (Lisa) Tipsword of Pittsfield; and sisters, Kathy Lilly of Pickerington, Ohio, Karen (Leroy) Stroud of Effingham, Jane (John) Hosteny of Springfield and Arlene (Marvin) Kocher of Springfield. DECATUR - Richard L. Tipsword, 78, of Decatur passed away at 4 p.m. Sunday July 12, 2009 in St. Johns Hospital, Springfield.

Richard was born May 8, 1931, in Cumberland County, IL the son of Thomas and Flora (Evans) Tipsword. He married Norma Lamb on May 25, 1950. He had worked for many years as a homebuilder and bricklayer in the Decatur area.
Surviving is his wife: Norma of Decatur; son: Robert Tipsword and his wife Gayle of Decatur; daughter: Gayle Hanneken and husband Mike of Mt. Zion; sister: Helen Luke of Greenup, IL; grandchildren: Laura Cooper and her husband Tony of Mt. Zion, Jim Stevens and Dawn Welker of Mt. Zion, Chad Tipsword of Decatur, Jon Tipsword and his wife Rachael of Springfield; great grandchildren: Miles Cooper, Gracie Cooper, Wyatt Stevens, and Gabriel Tipsword.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Stephen Jennison and the staff of St. John's Hospice for all their loving care and compassion.

Deceased Name: George F. Tipsword
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ill. - George F. Tipsword, Fulton, Miss., formerly of Lawrenceville, died Monday, April 20, 2009, at the home of his companion, Fran Wolf, in Evansville, Ind.
He owned and operated Precision Service Co. in Lawrenceville until 1986. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific theater and occupied Japan.
His wife, Sydney L. (Onines) Tipsword, is deceased.
Survivors include two sons, George S. Tipsword and Thomas R. Tipsword; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The body was cremated. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. CDT Friday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home, 1303 12th St.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. CDT Friday at the funeral home.

Deceased Name: Obituary -- Ryan Kent Tipsword
Ryan Kent Tipsword passed away April 5, 2009, at his home in Park City, Utah. Ryan was born in Littleton, Colo., on December 2, 1982.
A 2001 graduate of Olympus High School, Ryan lived life BIG. He packed more into 26 years than most people fit into 86. His love for life and people flowed into his work in the travel and hospitality industry, making memories for multitudes of vacationers. Ryan longed to be with his friends and family at Alta in winter, Lake Powell in summer and on any golf course, anytime.
Ryan never knew a stranger. His approachability, fun good nature, kind-heartedness, sensitivity, compassion and fearlessness brought others close to him. Within his large family, a generation of cousins idolize him for his kindness, ability to relate and a wonderful gift to bring fun to any occasion.
Ryan loved his family very much and always put them before himself. He is survived by his daughter, Ava Marie Tipsword; father, Stephen (Donna) Tipsword; mother, Ann (Jim) Sumner; brother, Brandon Tipsword; step-sister, Megan Gertz; grandparents, Ron and Virgene Stricklett, and Patricia Snider; two nieces, Jaelyn and Kaylee Tipsword; numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and hundreds of friends nationwide all of them love him dearly. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Norman Tipsword.
A memorial service was held earlier in the week. Wayne Albert Tipsword, age 86, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at his home. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Navy in the Southwest Pacific and was a member of Sea Bee Naval Construction Battalion. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Victoria Force Tipsword; brothers, Wilbur and Leroy Tipsword; sister, Charlotte. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Ivis Tipsword; daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and Ralph Benson and Shirley and Johnny Hall, all of Maryville; grandchildren, Stephanie, Boyd, Valerie and Amy; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Natalie, Brady, Tristan, Jarid, James, Carmen and Will.
