Toland, John Patrick Of Quincy, Massachusetts, formerly of Dorchester, MA, on December 4, 2006. Son of the late John Toland and Susan Herron-Toland of Donegal Ireland/Dorchester, Massachusetts.Beloved husband of the late Noreen F. (Kelly) and loving father of Sean P. Toland of Quincy and daughter-in-law Suzanne M. Newton. Brother of Francis and his wife Judith of Quincy, Mary and her husband Robert Harkins of Norwood, James and his wife Joanne of Whitman, Sr. Barbara Toland, S.C, of Rego Park, NY, Bernard and his wife Catherine of Quincy and Susanne and her husband Lawrence Murphy of Abington. Devoted grandfather of Lindsey, Gavin and Sean Toland. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews to whom he was lovingly known as "Uncle Duke". Funeral Mass in St. Ann's Church, Quincy, Massachusetts at 10 AM. Visiting hours Friday, 3-8 PM. Burial to follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester. John was a 1952 Boston College High School graduate and a retired long-term employee of the Boston Edison Co. He was a life-long supporter of Harvard Athletics and spent his retirement years serving as a volunteer administrative assistant with the Harvard University Hockey Squad, who affectionately called him "Tolzie". As a result of his dedicated service, John was chosen to be an honorary member of the Harvard Varsity Club.
