I was searching TheLibrary Of Virginia archives (great site) in the Revolutionary War rejection claims SECTION and I found where a ROGER Tolle WAS giving his two children as William TOLLEY and a Alexander Tolle. At the time 1812 of the claims letters Roger Tolle was deceased. It is hard to read the most of the writing form age I persume but William is defnitely signing his name in the claim WILLIAM TOLLLEY. I have thought all along that the Tolle family and the Tolley families of the Augusta,Rockbridge, Amherst, and the surrounding areas of Virginia are related.
One of the letters from what I can tell is from William Tolley stating his father Roger Tolle was a rev. war soldier and he is maybe wating some land that was promised hi father.
