hi there
my Toller connection goes way back (appearing in the family tree in 1755)I have a record of Grace TOLLER marrying Amos FRANKS in Uffculme, N-E Devon - about 5 miles from the Somerset border - i guess the family you are looking for and the mine are related somehow - i know this is not very much to go on but if you have any clues that might lead me further in the Toller search I'd be grateful.
I do know that nearly all of my devon family names appear in London after Enclosure and rural mechanisation in the mid-late 1800s. If you look at Brixton and Lambeth records you will find most devon/somerset names represented as there seemed to be a 'little devon' there in the community until the first world war - the Brixton and Stockwell war memorials are nearly all Westcountry names.
anyway, happy hunting
chris
