See my message posted to the TOLER board here on GenForum just this week about a David TOLLER from Aberdeen, Scotland who went to Norway in the 1600's.
This I believe could be where one of my closest Ydna matching Other Surnames hails as all of my nearest Other ydna matching surnames are from Scotland.
I have 3 other matching surnames all from Scotland and my Haplotype is Norse.
So I would presume that most of the families to which I share the closest ydna to who are also I1a's, would also have the Norse-Scot connections as well.
Spellings being what they were centuries ago, the spelling of the name TOLER that I link ydna to, might have been spelled in any form that long ago.
I've even noticed the surname of TOLLE/Tollie and in the Norway records this is used as a first and last name since the children of - TOLLE would have become - Tolle's-son or Tolle's-datter (daughter).
Its very difficult to track ones Norwegian ancestry that's for sure when you have so little to go on.
I think the TOLER's I link to were from VA or somewhere in the South.
