Elizabeth Ann TOMERLIN married Absolem [or Abislon] B. SEARS 15 Sept 1850 in Washington Co AR. Elizabeth was the daughter of Richard Tomerlin/Tomberlin. Richard Tomerlin/Tomberlin (I believe to be brother of James Tomerlin/Tomberlin) and A.B. Sears came to Caldwell Co TX in early 1850's. According to Monte Tomerlin, a Tomerlin family genealogist, Richard died February 6, 1857, Caldwell Co, TX.He indicates that Richard was married twice, first wife Elizabeth and second wife Mary Ann and thinks that Elizabeth's mother was Mary Ann but unsure. He also gave Elizabeth's siblings as: John, Sarah, James, Susan, Margaret, and Andrew.
I am a descendant of A.B. Sears of Caldwell Co.TX. He is my great great grandfather. I am looking for more info on him and his wife, Elizabeth and their parents.
A.B.'s children were: Elizabeth Mariah Sears b.Oct.1857 TX Frances Gwen Sears (Fannie - my gr.grandmother) b. 30 Dec. 1858 d. 23 July 1931 m. Francis Albert Hughes 13 Aug. 1890 (lived in Prairie Lea Caldwell Co TX) John William Sears ("Will") b. 1 Sept. 1861 m. Pinkie Ida Polk 26 Nov. 1884 d. 10 Sept. 1895 James Sears Carrie R. Sears b.1871 d. 1894 m. C.T. McDowell, Abislon Sears.
