A friend of mine who is a collector of old books just purchased a Book of Common Prayer dated 1743 from a bookseller in England.Inscribed in the book was the following:

In Memory & Respect of the performances of The last offices of Religion to his Wife:the gift Of Captain Danley Sutton a native of Winchester To Charles Holloway a native of the same place who offers it as ye small but acceptable & Sacred First Fruits of his labor in the ministry of ye Gospel To his Ever honor'd Mother Elizabeth Holloway
While animated Dust run out apace Like momentary Sands their Short liv'd race While of fair shadowry Glow'rs ye fate I read And stand betwixt ye living and ye dead; On wings of Piety to god my pray'r I speed, a tender Mother's life to spare; Beg his divine Protection night & day; Studious ye Debt for Life receiv'd to pay O may her Son (as heav'n Inspires her heart) Where most he wishes on her pray'rs have part Tis all he asks 'tis all he has to give Blest he can die, to merit it, can live And rich beyond the grave, anticipate Th' eternal portion of a blest estate To which, by her instructed, he aspires As Nature draws him & Example fires; To which in heav'ns thro' Christ admitted Heir To crown the Joy, he speaks her blessing there. Anna Maria their daughter was born on Tuesday the 24th day of July 1770 between the hours of 4 and 5 in the afternoon
Died (note - this was next to the entry for Anna Marie) July 11 1848 between the hours 3 and 4 afternoon
Charles Penruddocks their son was born on Monday the 6th day of April 1772 between the hours of 3 and 4 in the afternoon
Elizabeth their daughter was born on Monday 2nd May 1774 between the hours of 11 and 12 in the afternoon
John their son was born on Monday 26thJune 1775 between the hours of 5 and 6 in the morning
George their son was born on Wednesday10th December 1776 about 10 in the forenoon
James Henry their son was born on Saturdaythe 27th June 1778 about 15 minutes after 4 in the morning
Frederick their son was born on Thursdaythe 5th July 1781 about 15 or 20 minutes after 5 in the morning
