Hi Mary,
My grandmother was Anica Tomljenovic, the daughter of Paul and Eva Tomljenovic of the province of Lika, Croatia.I have a copy of her baptism record and cannot make out their actual first names in Croatian and am assuming that they are the Croatian equivalent of "Paul" and "Eva". I believe they were from Sveti Rok but I know that some of the family lived in Lovinac as I visited both places back in Jan. 1964 and met some of her relatives in both those places. The parents of Paul Tomljenovic were Bartholomew and Martha Tomlejenovich. The parents of Eva Tomljenovich were Peter Tomljenovic and Lucy Verbon.
The children of Paul and Eva Tomljenovic were:Simon, Marko, Nicholas, Lucy (who married Jereome Sullentich), Mary (who married Michael Petrac?), Martha (who married Anthony Kotoluntich), Barbara, and, of course, Anica (my grandmother, who married Blaz Japuncic, later changed to "Japuntich", in DeKalb, Illinois in 1913.
Unforunately, when I visited in 1964 I was young and not much interested in genealogy and didn't ask many questions of the relatives I met.I also didn't speak the language, which didn't help much either!Hope this is of some value to you.
