Hello Bev-many thanks for your prompt reply. My relationship with Clarence and Eileen Tonks is a little vicarious, but totally fascinating. I am assisting my sister-in-law, Judy McConnell, in tracing her family heritage. We are focusing on the Watty line - namely Hettie Watty (mother of Eileen Tonks, nee Watty). Our research has recently lead us to a genealogy adventure in Wanganui, where we met a delightful 82 year old lady called Gwen Rod (Clarence and Eileen are her Aunt and Uncle). She suggested I try to trace the Tonks family in Wellington and has given me photographs to pass on to Clarence and Eileen's descendants if I manage to find them.Would it be appropriate for me to contact your cousins Ralph and Brian (their sons) so I can give them the photos and maybe learn more about their Mother Eileen. If you wish to contact me direct, my email address is [email protected]
Looking forward to sharing information with yourself and your cousins.
Kindest regards
Anne Baxter
