Thanks for the additional information. It is is helpful in my Alexander research. The Robert and Hannah Alexander you referenced are my 5g grandparents.I descend from their son Robert (brother of Rachel Alexander/Tooker), and his wife Charlotte Norris/Naras.If I understand correctly, Robert and Hannah Alexander are also your 5g grandparents, making us cousins.I do have quite a bit of information and sources on the Alexanders documented in my "Peterson Watson Ancestors" tree on the Ancestry web site.Let me know if that's not the source you were referring to for your Alexander info, and/or if you have any questions about the info in my family tree there.
I have found 1790 and 1800 US census records for the elder Robert Alexander (died 1805), and 1810 and 1820 US census records for his wife Hannah.I have found 1800-1820 US census records for Jonah Tooker.I have also found 1840-1860 US census records for Manly Tooker.I have also found 1825 NY state census record abstracts for Manly and Rachel (Jonah had died by this time). There is also a 1790 enumeration of a Jonah Tucker in Brookhaven, Suffolk County, New York (on Long Island), which may also be your Jonah Tooker.
Let me know if you have questions about any of those.
Thanks for the info from Manly's Bible regarding Rachel's birth and death dates. There seems to be quite a bit of conflicting info on those dates, including some even within Manly's own writing.
While I've found quite a few references to the elder Robert Alexander and family in Pennsylvania and New York historical books and the Tompkins County and other web sites, Robert's emigration from Ireland is new info for me.
Would it be possible for you to provide me with paper or digital copies (scanned images, digital photos, etc.) of the family Bible info referencing Robert and Hannah Alexander, and Rachel Alexander Tooker.I'd be happy to reimburse you for any copying/postal costs.
You can send email to my Yahoo email address. My id there is rixem-anc.Hopefully you can piece that together and the automated email-address-grabbing bots won't be able to.I can also provide you with my postal address via email, if needed.
