I agree with you concerning using "Mixter" or "Mixer" as a middle name.Chlorinda/Chloe Bartlett married John Torrance.I did a search at the New England Historic Genealogical Society's website (www.americanancestors.org) and found this:
"Chloe Mixter, 83, [residence] Enfield, Connecticut, United States Record."This is from a book, published in 1884, called "About Ye Old Folks of Connecticut."This Chloe Mixter would have been born circa 1801, according to this account.Interesting, huh?Of course, Chloe Bartlett was born circa 1787 somewhere in Massachusetts.
You previously stated that you'd found a family tree online that stated Chloe's mother was Ann Mixter (Mixer?).I can imagine that Ann Mixter had a brother (?? Mixter), who around 1801 named his daughter Chloe. She lived at Enfield, at least at the time of her death.
