Jan, I followed up on your recent post and found the death record of "Mrs. Torrance."The only thing that seems unlikely to me is that she died at the "Poor Farm."Not that this Torrance family was wealthy, but they seem to be a family that "took care of their own."At the time of this death in 1854, Eunice Torrance had a son (John) still living in the area and a daughter (Eunice Cook) still living in the area.I don't know about her daughter (Patty Boynton); she supposedly d. of TB but I have found no record.I don't believe there was a daughter Patience unless she and Patty were one and the same; I can find no trace of a Patience. There is supposed to have been a son Thomas but I can verify nothing about him.It is said that he went to Cook Co., Illinois, and there is a Thomas Torrance there in 1850 but I can make no connection to this Torrance family. But we know that she had at least two children still living nearby and we know she had previously lived with John so why would she have been at the poor farm?
