Thanks for your information in regards to the Torrence lineage. My connection to all of this is through my GG-Grandfather Arthur McNeall who was married to Annie M's older sister my GG-Grandmother Celina Nichols, and i come from the McNeall side
However as part of my research of her I expanded the search to look into her siblings and that is how I came across Dr. Albert Torrence, and those that were in the Adams County Illinois.
In regards to John A Torrence, using the Quincy Library database I found the wedding announcement of John and Lulu Oct. 1899, but they filed for divorce October 15, 1901 Infidelity and desertion were sited as the cause, and Lulu remarried in November 1902. After the death of Albert Torrence Annie remarried 2 more times. I have found reference of Annie visiting her son John Torrence who was living in Okmulgee Oklahoma, so that is something I will look into
Thanks for the update on Sarah in Generation 6.The Torrence family line appears to have practiced what I have seen in another branches of the family tree in that they seemed to recycle names, and the men seemed to marry women with the same names as their mothers. This makes the research somewhat confusing at times.
I have also located the Obit for Dr. John Torrence (8/12/1813 – 4/16/1899, buried in the Woodlawn cemetery in Quincy. Listing children Mrs. Olive D Richardson Eliza Sprout Nance widow of Dr. C H Nance Mary A wife of J H Crump Dr. Laris P Torrence
