MRS. EMALINE TORRENCE, retired, post office Option, daughter of WILLIAM and MARY (FLEEGER) TORRENCE, was born at Greensburg, Westmoreland County, in 1820.Her father was a native of Ireland, and on coming to this country located in Westmoreland County, where he remained some years.He then removed to Pittsburgh, and engaged in the saddler business, the firm being R. & W. Mackey.He died in Pittsburgh and left five children: MARGARET, EMALINE, MARY, CATHERINE and ROBERT.EMALINE married DAVID TORRENCE, and settled in Jefferson Township, on the farm now owned by her, and engaged in farming.Here DAVID TORRENCE died. Their children were MARY, now MRS. MILLER; HENRIETTA, WILLIAM, JENNIE, KATE and DAVID D.Of these KATE and WILLIAM are deceased.MRS. TORRENCE is a member of the U. P. Church.
