Pat, are you descended from the Jean Baptiste Tougas/Crepeau line? Are you interested in the Brazeau line too?I would be interested in how you fit into the family tree. The Tougas descendants I think owned their land on the Illinois side of the Wabash River, such that when the territory was divided into states and into counties, they ended up in Lawrence Co, IL.One of the Tougas boys applied for a permit to operate a ferry across the Wabash. The Tougas of Wabash Co., IL settled in a little area called Rochester, IL near present-day Keensburg, and there are still markers for some of the Tougas. There used to be a Catholic Church but it fell into disrepair, and the local farmers used some of the tombstones for foundation blocks in their out-buildings.
