In the 1841:WEst North Street, Greyfriars, Aberdeen
George Keith 30, Carter
Charlotte Keith 25
Margaret Keith 8
Alexander Keith 63, Carter.
(This matches the information on the marriage registration regarding name of bride father, occupation and witness).
1851 is where it gets interesting and I think this is correct:
Ann Tough 35, born Kincardine Banchory
James Tough 24, son, ag. lab. b. Old Machar
Charlotte Keith 19, cotton reeler, b. aberdeen, niece
Margaret Keith 17, b. aberdeen, cotton reeler, niece.
This at 5 North Charlotte Street
I find Peter 47, married, lday laborer, lodger at End of Town, Inverie. In the same household, a sawyer, John Tough age 24.Peter gives birthplace as Lochel, Aberdeen.
Alexander Tough, 1 Riddles Court, Windmill Brae, Home of Donald Fraser 17 laborer, lodger, born Skene.
I had found the above on Free Cen and wondered but was thrown by the age of Ann's son, James...then the age of Peter who is married and a lodger and then John Tough, 24, Sawyer further muddies the water!! The occupation of the witness, Alexander, at the marriage of Peter and Ann is sawyer. And son, John, bapt. 1834, Skene, is not in the 1841 Census with Peter and Ann...
It is all very confusing...
