Kenneth G. Toughill, 74, of Bayville died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, July 22, 2011. Born and raised in Philadelphia, he also lived 11 years in Pine Beach, before moving to Bayville 46 years ago. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was the founder and owner of Allied Boiler Repair Company in Wanamassa in 1974 before retiring in 1987. He then was a salesman for Nutley Heating Company of Nutley. He loved sports cars, gambling, and feeding squirrels and chipmunks. He was an awesome father to his children and grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Eileen (Helbig); two children, Colin and his wife Ginni, and Kelly Titus and husband James; five grandchildren, Christopher, Jessica, Dillion, Alison and Lucas; his nephews, Pastor Kevin Bowen and Grady Toughill.
Visiting hours will be Monday, July 25, from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville. The family will gather 10am on Tuesday at the funeral home, before services begin at 11am. Cremation will be private.
