I guess they are right when they say "timing is everything"!Two and a half weeks away sounds like a dream, hope you had a great time.
Thanks for the Pierre information.I'm looking for, at least I think I am, for your Marie-Elisabeth's brother Francois-Benoni, who married Marie-Catherine (Perpignan-Roche?) Tardif 5 Sept 1808 in Kamouraska, Quebec.
I'll tell you up front that this whole family totally confuses me!I'll give you a quick synopsis of what "I think" it should be:
Francois-Benoni and Marie-Catherine had a son named Bernard Boucher, b after 1808, who married Marie-Anne Grou(lx) 1 May 1821 in St-Constant, Laprairie.I think her parents were Joseph Grou(lx) and Catherine (Stephanie) Thephanie, which is another name I can find nothing on.
Bernard and Marie-Anne had the following children (some of this is a result of other researchers, so can't attest to it's authenticity):
Bernard Boucher, b aft 1821, married Cecile Drolet 6 Feb 1844 in St-Remi, Napierville, Quebec
Cesaire Boucher (found as Silas Butcher in 1880 Census), b abt 1830, married Marie-Emelie/Amelia Demers/DeMarce/etc. 6 Jan 1856 in Watertown, NY (I have copy of marriage certificate)
Celestin (think I found him listed as Sylvester in 1880 Census), b abt 1834, married Virginie, sister of the above Emelie/Amelia, same date as above in Watertown (on same page as above marriage)
Eulalie (Delia) Boucher, b aft 1821, married Olivier Pinsonneau/Pinsonault 29 Oct 1850 in St-Remi, Napierville, Quebec
Sophie Boucher, christened 18 Feb 1832 in St-Constant, Laprairie, Quebec, married Edouard Lemieux 12 Oct 1846 in St-Constant, Laprairie, Quebec
Moise Boucher, b 15 Feb 1825, married Marcelline Lefebvre, b 6 Sept 1829, on 22 Nov 1853 in St-Remi, Napierville, Quebex
Zoe Boucher, b 18 Mar 1837, married Benjamin Coallier 29 Set 1863 in St-Remi, Napierville, Quebec
I found Cesaire, Celestin and Eulalie (Delia) and their families in the 1880 Census for Watertown, NY.My main focus is in Cesaire Boucher and Marie-Emelie/Amelia's family as follows:
Lorenzo C. Boucher, b abt 1859 in Canada, married Catherine "Kate" Flynn in 1880 in Watertown (I have a copy of marriage certificate on which his name was written Laurent Boucha).
Helen Boucher, b abt 1864 in Canada
Arthur Boucher, b abt 1866 in Canada
Ernest Timothy Boucher, b 1870 (I have a copy of his baptismal certificate)
In the 1880 Watertown Census Lorenzo's name was listed as Loreso Bousha, can't help but love the creativity of those census takers!!!!
Lorenzo's wife Catherine is the daughter of my gr uncle Patrick Flynn who was born in Co. Sligo, Ireland.I thought that finding my Irish relatives was tough but those French have them beat by a mile!!!!
I'll keep my fingers crossed that you have some of the above information in your files but I shan't hold my breath as I'm too young to die.
