Just some FYIs for you: 1) Be sure and look at the TOW forum.Dad's family changed the name around 1900 and added the "e" to keep people from pronouncing it "TOE" (my name rhymes with "How now, brown cow). 2) My earliest TOW ancestor was Anderson TOW and John TOW of Davidson County, NC.Their children lived in Virginia, then migrated to Oklahoma and Missouri. 3) At least two other branches of TOWE were in Missouri -- one near Stockton Lake and the other in Wright County (mine is in Douglas County, about 30 miles south). 4) I've found TOWEs in North Carolina, Indiana, Virginia, Missouri, Georgia, Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado and California.
