I am curious. I am a descendant of the Hingham Tower family and have several pieces of information that cite the Tower Genealogy by Charlemagne Tower as a source. Have you seen this book? I checked Amazon.com and they say it is out of print. It was apparently reprinted in 1998 by the New England Historical and Genealogical Society. From what we have, my Tower ancestors moved from Massachusetts, to Rhode Island, from Rhode Island to New York State, from New York State to Indiana. My great grandmother Mary Ella Tower, married Jospeh Valentine Clark in Iowa. One of their daughters,my grandmother Inez Josephine Clark was born in Iowa and married Ellis William Schilling Rail. One of her sons, Ellis Clark Rail, is my father. They moved to California in the late 1930s. My father spent most of his adult life in California but moved to Utah after my mother's death and died there in November 2003. I still live in California. We are currently trying to clear up Indiana issues because our information indicates births in Indiana before the locations named came into existence.
If I read your postings correctly you are still in New England. I would be interested in sharing information. Much of what we have has been uploaded to Ancestry.com. If you would like to take a look and discuss or clarify, please feel free to contact us by email. My wife still teaches but I retired from teaching and am self employed so I can usually be reached at our home telephone number (909) 822-4427.
Sorry this is longer than I intended but wanted to provide some background on my interest in the Tower family.
