We are desparately searching for information on Mrs. Eunice Toogood/Towgood. Church records from Worthington/Chester, Mass. indicate that a Thomas Kinne/y published intention to marry MRS. Eunice Toogood/Twogood 1775. Later, the Town of Worthington sought support for said Eunice from Mr. Thomas Kinne/y who had moved out of town and apparently abandoned her to the support of the town/church. He had moved to Tumbleton, VT. (Which we can't find a record of such place). He didn't come get her, so the town voted to pay a man to take her off to Tumbleton, VT under a code that allowed for such "deportation" of wards of the town to either the place where their relatives were or the place of their birth so as to save the town the "welfare" expense. (Known as "warming out") We want to know anything and everything about Mrs Eunice Toogood/Towgood (first husband's name, maiden name, place of birth, other family) and the Thomas Kinne/y who abandoned her in Worthington, (his family/parents, dob, place of birth, etc) AND/OR the place known as Tumbleton, VT in the 1770-1780s.
We are trying to establish who this poor lady was, and that it was NOT our ggggg grandfather who so ill treated her (and who already had a wife living!!!!)
If anyone has a Eunice ??? m. to a Mr. Toogood/Towgood/Twogood prior to 1775, please e-mail me. Would also be interested to know any New England concentrations of families of this name or variations of spellings.
