Glad to hear we have a match. I have only just started dealing with the Towles myself. I took over the work my father did and only just found some papers he had on the Towles.
I have a copy of an old handwritten record that lists:
"Record of George William Towles and family
George William Towles, Sr, was born Sept 12, 1830. Son of William and Eunice Raner Towles. Ann Towles was born August 26, 1833. Daughter of John and Hannah Laseby. Sarah Ann Towles was born March 24, 1854. Daughter of George and Ann Towles. Eunice M. Towles was born Dec 22, 1855. Daughter of George and Ann Towles. Catharine M. Towles was born Jan 10, 1857. Daughter of George and Ann Towles. George William Towles was born Nov 14, 1859. Son of George and Ann Towles. John Laseby Towles was born Aug 8, 1861. Son of George and Ann Towles. Willfreda W. Towles was born Aug 3, 1862. Daughter of George and Ann Towles. Estella J. Towles was born Aug 3, 1862. Daughter of George and Ann Towles. Jennie A. Towles was born December 23, 1864. Daughter of George and Ann Towles. Mary Grace Towles was born Nov 23, 1866. Daughter of George and Ann Towles.
Deaths John Laseby Towles, son of George and Ann Towles died September 10, 1861. Aged 1 month and 7 days. Ann Laseby Towles, the Mother, died July 16, 1893. Aged 59 years, 11 months (unreadible due to the bottom of the page) George William Towles, Sr. died September 27, 1910, Aged 80 years.
George and Ann Towles left England Oct 9, 1854 and landed in America December 11, 1854, from Waddingham, near Kirton Linsey, Lincoln Shire, England.
George W. Towles, Sr. went to England 6th of September 1874 and came back the 20th day of October 1874.
George and Ann Towles and family moved to Rock Villefarm, Pluckamin, New Jersey, April 1877.
Mistake rectified. William Raner was George William Towles, Sr. stepfather. his own Fathers name being (nothing further here)"
That's all it says. I added the stuff in parens. I can send you a copy if you want. Just send me your address. Unfortunately, I don't know who wrote it or when. Judging by the handwriting, it's at least early 1900's.
