This rather tardy information but I have taken a sabbatical from genealogy for a few years. Now I am back. The Pasquale Tramutolo B:4-17-1855 in Potenza, Italy, to Gaetano Tramutolo and Beatrice Santersiere. D:7-19-1931 Denver, ColoradoMarried 4-01-1874 in Potenza, Italy to ANGELA MARIA LAGUARDIA B:3-10-1857 in Potenza D:3-18-1918 in Denver, Colorado. It gets rather confusing when some people use the baptized name and some use nickname/family petname.Angela Laguardia was also known as Angelina and I am told also Arcangela. Angela's parents are Nicola Felice Laguardia and Giuseppa Mancino.
Also confusing is when they change their name from Italy form (Gaetano) to American (Clyde). Also the way the Italians named their sons. The first son was named after the husband's father, the second son named after the mother's father (at least different surname), the third son after the father, the next son after the father's oldest brother, the next son after the father's second oldes brother, and etc. And they didn't seem to need middle names or atleast ever use them. Some people followed the same naming process with baby girls but not as much as the baby boys. The first son Pasquale and Angela had named Gaetano died - probably at birth - so they named the second son Gaetano when he was born the next year.
My father-in-law was the third and final son and he was named Gerardo which doesn't follow the line but then he changed his name (not legally) to Jerry. And he had two sons named Pasquale(both died) so he gave his next son the name of Pasquale for a middle name. They also had a son named Anthony who died in 1922 so in 1934 they named that son Anthony. Hope this was some help to see if any family connection and not too boring for you.Lee Tramutolo
