I posted the message below in the Lett Family Forum regarding Eliza Caroline Traughber marrying Samuel Lett then marrying Marion Holman, also spelled Holeman.
Does anyone have any other information regarding the message below?
Thanks in advance for any help.
From what I can gather, Eliza Caroline Traughber married Samuel Lett, son of Drury Lett. They may have had 3-4 children before Samuel died around 1863. Samuel and Eliza are listed under Eliza's father's household in the Logan Co KY 1860 census. His name is John Traughber and Sam and Eliza list Mary A., Christina, and Green as their assumed children.
Sam must have died and then I think Eliza married my gggrandfather, Marion Holman(also spelled Holeman). Their 1870 Logan Co KY census household lists John N, James S, Lenora, Wilimoth and Marian(actually Marion, a boy who is my ggrandfather) and then Eliza's children Lucy R Lett and Drury G. Apparently my gggrandfather must have been married once before because the ages of John and James imply that Eliza could not have been their mother if she did not marry their father until 1863.
Apparently, my gggrandfather died somewhere between 1870 and 1880 census because 1880 census only lists Eliza with some of the previously listed children above and some new children.
Wanted to point out that the census transcribers have Eliza's oldest son listed as Green Litte, instead of Drury Green Lett. I have also seen it listed as Lott, Lite, etc. Also wanted to point out that both Logan Co KY and Robertson Co TN marriages lists Marion Holman(or Marian Holeman) marrying an Eliza Lett and Eliza Traughber about the same year. I don't know why two marriage licenses would have been issued but please note that the town of Adairville KY in Logan Co lies just 1 mile inside of the KY border north of Roberston Co TN. The Traughber clan lived right on the border so some records might be recorded in KY and some in TN.
