I haven't seen the huge old family Bible in at least 45 years, and none of my cousins know where it ended up. As I recall, the first entry was "Benjaman Travis come out of Carolina in 1819", or it might have said "Benjaman Travis was born in Carolina in 1819". His son was Fielding Travis, whose son was Benjaman Fielding Travis, whose son was Charles Benjaman Travis - my Grandfather. Most of the records use the jewish spelling of Benjamin, but the Travis'a in my line persist in using Benjaman. Charles Benjaman Travis had three sons - all born in Hickman, Fulton County, Kentucky. They were Charles French Travis, Thomas Mason French Travis, and my father, Robert Garth Travis. I was named after my two grandfathers: Charles Travis and Bruce Kirkman, so my name is Charles Bruce Travis. My sons are Benjaman Dean Kaimana Travis, born in Honolulu, Hawaii; and Eric Ford Travis, born in Geneva County Alabama.
