Engineers AND Co. E., 16h SC Reg.: died at home, during Civil War Probable Namesake: Named for Waddy Thompson, who, Steve Batson tells me, was a local man of some note in the Ante-bellum period. The thing most remembered about him is his home was known all over the south for its beauty and he had a fascination with the occult. Wayne Traynham says Waddy became ill at Adam's Run, came home from the war and died two days later.
