A wonderful gentleman named David R. Williams sent me a sizable packet of pages which he had copied from two books in a Dallas Library;David was unsure of the title of the book dealing specifically with the Treadaways other than the fact that it had Treadaway in the title. At any rate there is in that book a copy of a document dated July 29, 1785 which states that Dan. Treadaway performed 280 days duty as a private in the Militia as (of?) 10th company from April 15, 1781 to February 1782. Other copied documents indicate that it was the South Carolina State Militia in which he served. There is also in the book a family history written by Francis Marion (Frank) Treadaway in which Frank states that his grandfather Daniel Treadaway "was a faithful soldier in the Revolutionary and had two horses shot under him at the siege of Augusta, Georgia. . ."
My husband descends from a brother of Mary Elizabeth Treadaway--James Matthew Treadaway.I have no further information concerning Nancy Bell other than her birth and death dates.I would be happy to e-mail you privately and send an attachment of my husband's Treadaway line if you would be interested. In keeping with the wonderful generosity of David R. Williams, I would also be glad to have copies made of the pages which David sent to me and mail them to you.Let me know.
