My Trenholme information goes back further.I am descended from a Richard Tate of Bilsdale, born 15 Nov, 1743. He married Ann Trenholm at Bilsdale Midcable on July 2, 1771. She was stated to have been of Kirby.
I have been unable to identify her further. The IGI shows several possibles, assuming she was born about 1750.Are you familiar with the history of the Trenholms?I have quite a lot of general information. There is a website mainly to do with the branch of the family who came to Quebec and founded Trenholmeville, but they all seem to have originated in the same little corner of Yorkshire. The name Hoggart(or garth) rings a bell. I am descended from Thomas Hoggarth who married Sarah Mason in 1775. Their daughter, Sarah married Thomas Tate, and my mother was a Tate. Sarah had a sister, Hannah. How are we doing?
