A couple cousins and I are working on the Triggs ancestry and come to a possible conclusion that our Triggs may have been related to your Trigg family of Berkeley County, then Virginia. We descend from two brothers, Thomas and William Triggs, born said to be born in Virginia, and migrated to Scioto County, Ohio about 1803. According to the early records of Berkeley County, West Virginia, there were two other brothers, Samuel and John Jr. According to one researcher, they the brother's were sons of a English Professor by the name J. Triggs. Whether your Triggs are related I am not positive or not. Most likely to see if there is a connection DNA testing would need to be done to affirm our theory. Would you be willing to submit to such test if we were help pay for some of the cost? Do you have a good paper trail to substaniate your descent from one of these two brothers? Do you have a Triggs cousin that would be willing to do a DNA test? On our side we have several relatives eligible for the test, but we wanted to wait to see if we could find a descendant of the Berkeley County, WVA Triggs. You are our first contact.
