Barb.. Where are you in Michigan? My father was born in Beaverton, Gladwin County, MI and I have a zillion relatives in the state.I couldn't begin to count them all.My father went to the US Naval Academy at Annapolis from there, and he became a naval aviator, so we moved around a lot.I got to spend man of my summers and holidays in Michigan, and I love the state. The Trims were on my father's side.Desire Trim married Sargent Towle and they were my 3rd great-grandparents.Their son John Cramer towle married and moved to Montrose, Genesee, MI and later they died in Shiawasee County, MI.My grandmother's mother, Isabella Desire Towle, was born in Monrose, MI and was an identical twin.Twins seem to run in the Trim lines everywhere.
I got my information on Benjamin Trim's line from Ruthanna Davis of the Rehoboth Antiquarian Society, BO Box 2, Rehoboth, MA 02769(508) 252-3031.She runs the Trim Room, if you don't already know that, and she has a lot of information on Benjamin's line.Ruthanna is wonderful, and you can reach her at RuthannaD@copper.net.
Ruthanna has many family genealogies.I can copy what she sent to me and send it to you, or you can ask her to send you a copy too.
My mother is ill right now, and I will be gone next week.I have to spend at least one week a month with her to manage her affairs, but I should return on the 14th.
It is so nice to meet a new cousin on the Trim line.I did get the book on Block Island, and I have done a lot of research over in England. Most of the Trims came from Dorset and London.Valetine Trim was christened at Oxford.
