Thank you for responding to my query. My Isabella was born bet 1797-1801.Her brother Joshua was born unk but prob 1797-1802 He appears on a land transaction with a SKELTON in 1850 Hart Co, GA.
I've seen somewhere on the internet, that someone called my Isabella Totman, MOLLY.I wasn't aware of that name but she might show up as a Molley Trotman/Totman in someone's records. We don't know who her father is, yet, but I did find that Benjamin Totman in GA records and thought I would run him thru the wringer in the hopes of finding who his children were.I think I mentioned it before but I think he was born bet 1750-1770 as his name appears on the 1793 Muster Roll for Elbert Co, GA.He might be the father of Isabella and Joshua but until I find someone with better records than me, I'm still looking.
You may be aware of the TOTMAN's in NEW ENGLAND?Just wondering if you know if the TOTMAN name is/was being used as TROTMAN also.I know there are several ways they used it.I know that TOTMAN was also Tatman, Tottman, Tautman, but I'm wondering about Trotman?
The Totman's from New England appear to have come during the earliest times of America. They are listed with some of the First Families of the USA records.
I'm beginning to think that TOTMAN's and TROTMAN's are from two different regions as well, both English. If anyone can add to this, please feel free to post your findings or thoughts here as well.
And thanks again for your post as it gives me another area to search.
