I am searching for any info concerning the parents and family of my Great-Great-Great Grandmother Elizabeth Troxell Robison of Saltville, Washington Co.,VA.She was born abt 1825 and died abt 1889/90 in Scott Co., VA. Of her nine children two have Love as middle names - Oscar Cunningham Love Robison and Freelove Robison.(The use of the name Love indicates some possible relationship to Susan Troxell who married Flemming Love abt 1827)Her eldest son Andrew Levitt Robison was wounded in the Civil War in Tenn. and fell in love while being cared for, married and resided in Sullivan Co. Tenn. until his death in 1924.Her first husband was my Great-Great-Great Grandfather James Samuel Robison. He was murdered and robbed in 1865 at Glade Springs, VA while on a trip to buy land. Family history states that Elizabeth's brother, Jim Troxell, discovered who the murderer of his brother-in-law was and in turn killed him. After James Samuel's death Elizabeth moved the family to Speers Ferry in Scott Co. VA and in 1867 married James Barnett, Jr.She is buried in the Barnett Cemetery. My Breat-Great Grandmother Rachel Emily Robinson Page may have been part indian. I have been told that one of my relatives was being led by a local on a tour of the Page Cemetery in Scott County, VA and when they reached Rachel's grave the guide said "This woman was an indian."Possibly true given the history of various Troxell's wed to indians. Also, the name Love was a common surname of the Cherokees and the Saponi tribes. As was common in Ireland, the name Robinson also appears as Robertson, Robison, etc. with members of the same family using any spelling they liked. Thanks and hope someone has some clues.
