hi, it sounds like you may be descended from john troyer, son of the original troyer immigrant, michael troyer, who came from switzerland to pennslyvania in the mid 1700s.
john troyer was born in pennslyvania on 2/3/1753. he later moved to norfolk county, ontario, and became the first in a long line of troyers living in and around the long point settlement in walsingham township.
if you are interested in further info about this group, there's a packet about them by r. robert mutrie. i forget how much it costs, but it's not expensive. mutrie's address is: 244 Maple Leaf Avenue North, Ridgeway, Ontario, LOS 1N0. his email is: email@example.com.
there's a pretty good book about troyers in general. it was compiled by hilda troyer. it too has some info on the canada troyers. last i knew, hilda's address was: RR1 Box 318E, Chenoa, Ill. 61726. again, i'm not sure about the cost, but i don't think it's too much.
hope this helps. --thomas c. "kit" troyer, los angeles
