I'm not sure where you are getting this "spanish jewish" stuff. I'm a direct descended 5th generation grandson of Christopher Truby, originally Trubi born in Switzerland, near the border of France, at the source of the Rhine river in 1701, came to America in 1731. The earliest written history I have come across in in our family papers states that we were of French Huguenot origin, and had fled to Switzerland due to religious persecution in 1685. The family has always belonged to several of the protestant faiths since that time, I found one instance where the original Christopher was listed as Amish on a government paper. As far as Spanish descent goes, and the strangely familiar date of 1492, I'm rather suspect of that information, and would like to see a document. Perhaps I'll have my DNA tested. My mother's side of the family has a dutch/ Swiss lineage, but no mention of Spanish lines in her family history, and no-one in my family line from Christopher to me has married a Spanish-descended woman. Interesting stuff!
