Peter True was b. 21 APR 1815 Hardwick Twp., Caledonia Co., VT.By 1850 he was in Perry, Wyoming Co., NY. His mother is listed as Zerusah Unknown, b. 1776.Peter, m. Cynthia about 1843 in .Myron S., Peter Bryon, Alice C., John & George P.True were b. in NY between 1844 & 1853.Their next two children Emolyne M. & Jessie True were b. in Michigan probably Cooper, Kalamazoo Co. in 1859 & 1861 where they were counted in the 1870 census.By census time 1880 the family was in Douglass, Butler Co., KS.
By this time George P True is an MD & Emolyne is a school teacher. Jessie m. Thomas Hughes in 1879.EMOLYNE M. TRUE m. Reed Ruebin Davis [1857-1931] on 17 Sep 1878 in Butler Co., KS.
Reed R. Davis & Emolyne had 6 children before her death after 1906 and before 1910.Reed R. Davis was s/o John Davis and grandson of Abel Davis [c1765-1847].
I see the possibility that Judith True, b. 1734 d/o Benjamin True and Judith Morrill, who m. Abel Davis on 19 Arp 1758 as recorded in the Saulsbury Second Church - West Parish, Saulsbury, Essex Co., MA may be the father of my G4 grandfather Abel Davis, b. between 1760-1770 who I have been looking for many many years.
The True GenForum messages # 170 & 177 mention a Genealogical Chart prepared in 1864 by H(enry) A(yer) True, b. 10 Aug 1832 who m. Elizabeth Reed. (Caledonia GenForum messages 166 & 177 may also bear on the question as they mention Zeruiah [almost the same spelling Peter True's mother, Zerusah] . . . one must be the correct spelling.)
I sure would like to discuss the Caledonia Co. messages with the authors. The genealogy mentioned might explain that Reed R. Davis was perhaps named after Elizabeth Reed True. I wonder!
