I have this information on Mourning Trueblood. Mourning Trueblood daughter of William and Elizabeth (Newby) Trueblood was b 10-7-1788, Paquotank Co., NC; she was reared in the Quaker faith in the Back Creek MM, Randolph Co., NC; she was 24 years old and still unmarried when she came with her father and stepmother and other members of her family to Indiana.They went first to White Water, Indiana, where they were rec. by the Meeting, 6-27-1812; they moved on to Knox Co., where she was married in 1813. Paoli MM minutes, Indiana: Christopher Hill, b 1-15-1787, son of Jesse and Mary Hill, died 2-22-1869, Beech Growve, Indiana, married 12-1-1813, Mourning Trueblood, b. 10-7-1788; died 2-4 -1879, daughter of William and Elizabeth (dec.) of Knox Co., Indiana. Mourning (Trueblood) Hill was a very beautiful girl.At the Centennial of Orange County, she was represented as the heorine in the pageant given for that occasion. When William, the father of Mourning bought land in Knox County in 1814, he was on the land that later became Orange County. Mourning and Christopher Hill were members of the Lick Creek MM at Beech Grove, which later Paoli MM.In 1819, men who concientiously were opposed to bearing arms were required to pay a fine into the county treasurer of $4.00.Christopher Hill and Josiah Trueblood were among the men who paid the fine.William Trueblood sold land to Christopher Hill in 1824.Other transactions were made by Truebloods of this family to members of the Hill family.Whether the ones mentioned are children of Mourning and Christopher Hill is unknown.Josiah and Jesse Hill are mentioned.Now as I understand it William married Margaret(Jones) Saint.That is Mourning's stepmother.Elizabeth Newby Trueblood died 11-26-1791 in Guilford Co., NC ten miles south of Greensboro.William moved to Indiana in 1812 to Paoli, Washington Co.(later Orange Co.) This is from "The Trueblood Family In America, 1682-1963, John Trueblood of Shoreditch, England, and his descendants", by Bula Trueblood Watson(300 pages).
