I've been looking for more information on this Levi Trumbull/Trumble for some time now.
In the 1840 Census, Sand Lake (formerly part of Berlin), NY there is listed a Levi Trumble Jnr, who is the father of my wife's ancestor. This suggested to me that his father was also Levi Trumble/Trumbull, which would most likely be the one in the 1810 census. There appear to be two NY Levi Trumbles of the correct generation, one in Rensselaer Co, and the other in Jay, NY. I'm pretty sure that the one in Jay is not our ancestor.
For a while I thought that the Levi Trumble who marries Margaret Ambler in Sutton or Douglas Mass in 1806 was ours, but there is a Levi Trumble in Sutton in 1810 census forward, at the same time our Levi Trumble is in NY. This suggests to me that the Sutton/Douglas Levi is probably not ours.
All that said, the Levi Trumble Jr from 1840 married Balsora Ann Riechard; they had 10 children, though I only have the names of 5: Andrew 1838-1862, Russell 1841-1926, and triplets Franklin Isaiah, Francis Isaac, and Fannie Irene (b. 1848). Some of Franklin's children moved to Western Mass, including Merton Arthur (my wife's great grandfather); Francis also moved to Pittsfield. So some Trumbles from W. Mass are descended from Levi.
I have yet to find any more concrete info on Levi, Sr., though my Trumble father in law passes down family traditions of a CT origin for the family and a conflict that led some of them to change their spelling from Trumbull to Trumble.
Anyway, feel free to drop me an email; I have documentation on my information, and would love to hear what you've discovered.
