I see lots of questions on this site that could be answered from the pages of THE TUBB CONNECTION, a newsletter of "Facts, Tradition, and Conjecture" compiled by Bill Tubbs of Jasper, Al about the Southern Clan of Tubb(s). The first issue was in March 1982 and continued at least until 1990. I probably have most, if not all of it; probably in the order of 1000 pages or so.
Bill is now 71 and I have seen no indication that he intends to publish the data. I am more than 10 years younger but am not in good health. If I am willing to scan up to 50 pages a day and make them available at my website, can I find anybody that has OCR that is willing to make text copies of the scans? Can I find anybody that is willing to proof read the OCR copies?
Whoever helps will get a copy of the completed work, with the following condition. Now THE TUBB CONNECTION is not copyrighted, NEVERTHELESS I insist that all that are given a copy give a written pledge not to distribute it until after Bill is deceased. Bill at one time intended to live off the income of TTC and he may yet publish for profit and income, which he deserves. In fact, I intend to send a copy to Bill which he may wish to copy and distribute for profit. I do not have any objection to copying individual pages and sending them to other researchers.
