second son of William lo Belward Baron de Malpas in ye Countie of Chester by his
wife Mabilia, daughter and co-beire of Robert Fitz-Uugh, Baron de Malpas temp.
William ye Conqueraire married Alice, daughter of Sir Edmund Gamal de Mollington
in ye above named Countie and had issue Ralph, his heire, and Elinor, who
Richard Tucker de Halton in Cheshire and Sealyham in ye Countie of Pembroke son
and heire of Thomas Tucker Esq' de Halton and Sealyham, by his wife Ursula,
daughter of Robert del Holme Lord de Tranmure in ye first mentioned Countie,
Thomas was son and heire of Sir Owen Tucker de Halton and Sealyham by his wife
Angharad daughter of Sir Mathew Ellis de Overlegh near ye Citie of Chester, ye
Sir Owen was living temp Edward 3rd and fought in ye van of ye English Armye,
manded by ye Lord Audlaye under Edward ye Black Prince at ye Battle of Poictden
Anno 1356, ye said Sir Owen was lineally descended from Sir William Tucker Sene-
schal to Hugh do Lacy, Constable of Chester and Baron do Halton temp Henry 2nd."
The armorial bearings of the Tucker family, as emblazoned in the Cotgrave
are, — "1st Shield. Quarterly, first & fourth Azure, a Chevron embattled &
embattled or, between threo sea-horses naiant argent, for Tucker. Second Azure,
chief and three Chevronells in base or. for Fitz-Hugh. Third, Azure a Lion
Argent, for Montalt, impaling Gules, a fesse indented erminois between three
horns or stringed Argent for Cotgrave. 2nd Shield — Tucker with the same
impaling Barry of Six Or. and azure, for Holme. 3rd Shield — Tucker with the
quarterings impaling Ermine a Lion rampant Sable for Ellis." The ancient arms of
Tucker of Halton were " Ermine on a fesse Sable, a buckle Argent."
9 Owen Edwardes had issue by this marriage, John Edwaxdes of Trefgara, Esq.,
who married Anne, daughter of Thomas Birt ; their son was Owen Edwardes, married
to Damaris, daughter of James Perrot, Esq. For the remainder of this pedigree,
