1st King Brutus I , “The Trojan” “The Dardanian”, 1st King of Great Britain Note: at this point things get sketchy because there were so many names used throughout history for the same person and it starts running into Greek, Roman mythology stories and history as well as Celtic and British mythology and history. It is different versions that state Brutus is Either son of Silvius or son of Ascanius (they do not put it as lulus Ascanius). It is stated that Brutus accidentally killed his father and fled, and founded Britain.
Silvius (Hisicion (posthumus) d’Italia/Hessitio)/Ericonius-some refer to him as Silvius Ascanius and some as Silvius Aaneas, but other versions state they are one in the same. Yet Silvius Ascanius is rumored brother of Ascanius )and Silvius Aaeneas is rumored son of Aaeneas. It is rumored that mother of Silvius hid the child upon the death of Aaneas from Ascanius in fear that he would harm the child. It is rumored that Jules the son of Ascanius disputed the right of Silvius to be King Only thing that seems to come out of this is Silvius inherited the thrown. It is not certain if it was from Ascanius or Aaneas. Some call the King Ascanius as Lulus Ascanius.(some sources refer to him as King of Britain, but since Brutus is the undisputed 1st king, founder of Britain (Britain is derived from his name Brutus) then Silvius could never have been King of Britain. Ascanius King (of Alba Long, Italy)-some refer to him asLulus Ascanius or julus, but it is disputed that in actuality Julus was the son of Ascanius who fought against the succession of thrown to Silvius because Silvius was the brother of Ascanius and not the son. Ascanius is rumored to have started the founding of Rome, but is not named as the actual founder. Something to do with his wanderings/movements and becoming King of Alba Long, Italy.
My theory on Brutus/Silvius/Julus and Ascanius is this: Silvius is the son of Aaneas and brother of Ascanius.Ascanius inherited the thrown from Aaneas. Ascanius had a son and he probably named him Lulus(Julus) Ascanius (therefore Ascanius and Lulu Ascanius are not the same person, but rather father and son) who was most often referred to as Julus. When Ascanius passed the thrown it did not immediately get turned over to Jules ( Lulu Ascanius), but for some reason Silvius (the brother of Ascanius) was named. This could be because it was Ascanius wishes and named him as heir which would make sense. This act angered Jules (Lulu Ascanius) and he tried to dispute it because he was the actual son of the deceased King and therefore should have taken the thrown. When the mother of Brutus who is unnamed became pregnant with Brutus it was most likely Lulu Ascanius who was angered that the child was to be a boy, because then that would mean that neither him or his heirs would become King of Italy unless Silvius named them as such. But since Brutus accidentally killed his father, fled and is not named anywhere as King of Italy, assumption would have to be made that the thrown was picked up at that time by Lulu (Jules) Ascanius the son of Ascanius. None of Silvius or Brutus future heirs are named as King of Italy from that point on. What history does show is that the Julius Caesar Clan is derived from Jules( or theoretically Lulu Ascanius) line. I came about this conclusion as throughout history it is well known that a son will be given not only his own name, but also followed the name with that of his father and Lulu Ascanius would be sort of the same asLulu ap Ascanius and there forthe Actual son Ascanius would more apt been named Ascanius Aaneas because of order of names (this may also be the beginning of said name style trend that follows into the Wales line. I believe name confusion may have happened as it often does in genealogy research as does spellings and differences in names due to whether it is being spoken in Welsh, Italian, Greek, Roman, Celtic, or Briton and people may have thought that Ascanius and Lulu Ascanius were the same people-my theory is they are not the same person. Especially if one tried to trace back the roots from jules line and then someone else traced it back through Silvius because one would assume that he was the son of Ascanius sense he took the thrown. The only other theory would be that Silvius would be a younger brother of Jules and appointed as heir that would be why Jules was upset about not getting the thrown as well because technically it would go to the older son in most cases, but it would still make Silvius as Brutus’ father. These two theories would also explain why Silvius is referred to as Silvius Aaneas (meaning son of Aaneas and making him brother of Ascanius) or Silvius Ascanius (meaning son of Ascanius) and because of the mix ups of the names and the true knowledge of exactly how Silvius was named/became King someone could have assumed he was the son of Ascanius because he had the thrown and not Jules actually tried. Using the first theory given then Ascanius would not be in the blood line, using the second theory it would.
Aaneas (Aeneus) the Dardanian- King (of Latium)/Troy-father of King Ascanius (of Alba Long, Italy)
This is my Theory on it, I think if genealogists and historians took a look at this theory they would agree. Of course if it could truly be proven how the decision was made for Silvius to become King then it would totally straighten everything out. The truth would have to be found somewhere in Roman or Greek documents (not mythology, but actual historical records) mythology unfortunately has also been intertwined into this lineage.
Let it also be known that continuing further back in history at this point gets weird because of the changes from Britons/celts/Roman/Greek/Dardanian/Israelite views mytholigies and actual lost of true records. Aphrodite/Venus/Zeus are thrown in on the mothers sides and the name Anchises who is listed as father of Aaneas (aka Aeneus)is referred to as son of Capys (aka Capps)and his mother is referred to as Themis and several other names depending upon which mythology or records are followed.
