Don't know if am related.I am researching a Scottish family of TULLOCHs whose progenitor emigrated to US ca 1800, settling in Albemarle, VA.He could have been a relative of the TULLOCHs (John and Magnus) who were sent to Georgia in 1783, but I don't know. William and his sons were mill wrights and farmers. The father was William James TULLOCH, b. 12 May 1777 in Scotland. He married Nancy WHITELAW, in 1806 in Orange Co., VA.Her family came from Laniston, Stirling Co. SCT.They named their children, in order:Charles, Thomas, Janet, David, William and James.Nancy's father was named Thomas and her grandfather was named James.According to the Moray recs., there is a William TULLOCH b. 12 May 1777 in Dyke, Moray Co. SCT to Charles and Janet ANDERSON TULLOCH.My great, great aunt wrote that her grandfather, William James TULLOCH, could have sat in the House of Lords. My research indicates that there was a landed TULLOCH family in the area of Moray that fell into hard times and lost their lands in the late 1770s/80s.Don't know if anything fits.I also know that there was a William TULLOCH, Bishop of Moray. There is also an Alexander TULLOCH in Burke's Peerage that mentions a brother who emigrated to the US in the late 1700s.Does anyone know about these families?
