The U.S. Census of 1860 of Tyler County, Texas lists A. Tullos and Flora Tullos as wife and several of their children. A. Tullos passed away May 1870 in Navarro County, Texas. Does anyone have any information on what happened to Flora?
In Cosper Tullos' Book, "Tullos Sojourn, The Virginia Migration," he lists several of A. (Byrd) Tullos' children with their Uncle Stephen Tullos. Logically speaking, if A. (Byrd) Tullos passed away in May 1870 would not this explain why his children were staying with their uncle in the U.S. Census of August 1870 of Trinity County, Texas?
My Grt Grdfthr, J. A. Tullos served in Terry's Regiment, Texas Cavalry during the Civil War. Just above him on the roster for the unit, is A. Tullos. My firm belief that A. (Byrd) and Flora did not die in Lousiana in 1865, as reported in Cosper's book, but rather showed up early in Texas as evidenced by the U.S. 1860 Census, Tyler Cty, TX
