Bobbie, I can add a tidbit to that. James Tumlinson who you say was born about 1750, gave a deposition in front of Sylvanus B Walker, acting Justice of the Peace in Crawford Co, Arkansas on 4 Nov 1832.In that deposition he says "James Tumlinson, Senior, (Grandfather of James Tumlinson deceased) aged about seventy-nine, to me personally known..."
In this deposition, James Senior says that James his grandson was entitled to the land claim [in Lovely county, meaning that this James III lived there in May 1828] and that this James III has no children and that his only heirs are his brother and sister Joseph Tumlinson age 27 and Mahala Park age 25, wife of Cyrus Park."
The surname IS writen PARK here, but in the 1830 census it appears to me to be PARKS and also another researcher claims it is PARKER.
Could you please share with me, how you come by the knowledge that James Sr died about 1835?And also the knowledge that David is his son?Thank you.
